Speed-Climbing.
Mustagh Ata in 9h 25min.
on 23 August 2005 the international Dynafit Team set a new milestone in high-altitude mountaineering. A 7500-metre-high mountain in China was climed in record time (9h 25min) before being descended again in 1h 16min.
After intensive preparation we three racers from the international Dynafit Team travelled to western China to climb Mustagh Ata, the daddy of all ice mountains.
We were not planning a classic ascent with high-altitude camps and carriers, however, or to have tents on our bakcs Alpinestyle. Our aim was to take ski tour racing to hte highest peak possible. The ascent was to be "speed ascent" without complicated logistics and numerous expedition-style stopovers.
